CAIA Cosmetics, a rapidly growing D2C beauty brand, faced the challenge of ensuring that their diverse customer base could easily find and match the right shades and skincare products online. Despite having a wide range of inclusive shades, many online beauty shoppers hesitate to purchase cosmetics due to the lack of personalized consultations. CAIA needed a solution that could bridge this gap, offering their customers a seamless and accurate digital experience that could replicate the in-store consultation process, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and increasing conversion rates.
Solution
To address this challenge, CAIA Cosmetics partnered with Skin Match Technology to integrate advanced beauty tech solutions into their digital platform. They implemented three key tools across their extensive range of concealer and foundation products: the Foundation Shade Finder, the Concealer Shade Finder, and the Full Complexion Finder, which includes skincare and highlighters. The Foundation and Concealer Shade Finders are designed to recognize 112 different skin tones and cross-match shades across brands, helping customers find their perfect match whether they are new to the brand or switching from another product. Additionally, the Full Complexion Finder offers a comprehensive solution by recommending a personalized skincare routine along with highlighter suggestions, based on individual factors like skin type, allergies, and clean beauty preferences. These tools not only enhanced the customer experience but also significantly boosted CAIA’s conversion rates, further solidifying their reputation as an innovative leader in the beauty industry.
Within just three months we have matched over 2.6 Mio. products with 180’000 profiles a great success with rising numbers. Resulting in only 0.01 % reported faulty matches, giving us a great indication that our accuracy is up to 99%.
