Kiehl’s faced a growing challenge in meeting the expectations of today’s skincare consumers regarding personalization. With 74% of shoppers feeling disengaged when content isn’t tailored to their needs, Kiehl’s recognized the urgency of creating a more personalized and engaging online experience.
Additionally, many customers were not achieving their desired skincare results because they struggled to find the perfect match for their unique skin types, preferences, and sensitivities. This led to missed opportunities for both the customers and the brand, with valuable products going unselected due to a lack of tailored recommendations.
The absence of personalized service in online shopping—once a hallmark of the in-store experience—meant Kiehl’s needed a solution that bridged this gap.
Solution
Kiehl’s implemented the Skincare Finder Quiz, a powerful tool designed to provide personalized recommendations and ensure every customer could discover the products best suited to their needs.
The quiz was carefully designed with 6 targeted questions to match individual skin types and concerns to a curated selection of 60 products. By leveraging advanced algorithms, the quiz narrowed down options into a streamlined 5-step skincare routine tailored to the customer’s unique profile.
Kiehl’s also innovated with a personalized detail page, using the data gathered from the Skincare Finder to dynamically tailor product recommendations. This ensured that every click led to meaningful interactions and highly relevant products, giving customers confidence in their choices.
