International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI)
The INCI system was established in the early 70s by the Personal Care Products Council. INCI names are used in the United States, the European Union, China, Japan, and many other countries to list ingredients on cosmetic product labels. With few exceptions, the INCI labeling names in all countries are the same. This helps to ensure the safety and quality. However, the ingredient list can still be a burden for the consumer. At the moment, we have over 27,000 ingredients in our database, which is the most comprehensive listing of ingredients used in cosmetic and personal care products. Our team works diligently on each and every INCI to give you transparency about the source, effects and additional information about environmental concerns and harmful ingredients.
